As editor-in-chief of Veckans Affärer, you left to become an entrepreneur. When you took over as editor-in-chief, you started inviting readers to lunch to get feedback on your content, find new perspectives and meet new people.
Did you continue with the lunches when you started your own business?
Yes, it actually became the starting point and engine of my whole business! When I started taking readers out to lunch, I quickly discovered that it was completely addictive. What started as a weekly lunch soon became a daily lunch with a person I had never met before.
But what's so exciting about having lunch with a stranger?
All my lunches revolved around one question: why do you do what you do? A question that quickly brings you to topics like passion, drive and purpose. Which created very interesting and deep conversations that gave me - and hopefully the person I was lunching with! - a lot of energy. Moreover, these lunches also turned out to lead to a commercial assignment where I could help create different types of content, such as articles, podcasts, seminars and consulting services.
What have been your key insights after your 1000+ lunches?
That the art of building a successful business - and a more enjoyable life! - simply put, is about making yourself available to make things happen. Basically, the trick is to build a structure that enables just that. And in my case, it was through a daily lunch.
What will be your next project?
Now I have in a way put wheels on my lunches, since a year back I live full time in a Campervan and roll around Sweden and Europe. I no longer offer lunch every day, but the basic principle is the same: To visit inspiring people and places and dare to trust that it in turn leads to interesting things!
