Emil - how did you start thinking about Reparell?
I have a background in the IT industry where the focus is always to "develop, streamline and do better". The textile industry, on the other hand, is enormously conservative and directly unintelligent in the long term. The focus is on the lowest price, which means that production has been moved to extremely low-cost countries, the raw materials are often heavily environmentally impacting and as much as up to 30% of everything produced is thrown away. This is unsustainable and downright unintelligent. At the same time, our oceans are being polluted by various types of plastic debris. Something that can actually be used as raw materials for the textile industry, among others. And then I saw lots of opportunities!
What is Wear Ocean Waste?
Basically, it is a model where "the good thing becomes a business model". We make it possible for companies and organizations to concretely show that it is possible to take environmental and sustainability responsibility through profile clothing made from recycled plastic waste from the oceans. "Wear Ocean Waste" communicates that "we take responsibility for clean oceans and a sustainable world - it is more important than the absolute lowest price"!
Where do you want to go with Reparell?
This may sound strange but I hope that many people copy our business idea. Because if many do it then we can clean the oceans. No one can do everything but everyone can do something. And at least choose the least bad ways of doing things. I am driven to develop and to do things better in an intelligent way; Wear Ocean Waste is one such way!
