You are leading a high growth business, and a high complexity business. What is important to consider when recruiting new leaders?
I look for people who understand that collaboration and teams deliver results faster than individuals. Today, I prefer to choose leaders with solid experience in their field as it provides the fastest and best development. To be a good change leader, you need to know "what good looks like" to get us there quickly. I lead a global company so I also need leaders who can collaborate and respect others regardless of background and language and don't forget to include those they don't see every day in the office.

How do you create a healthy culture that makes collaboration between people in the organization more effective?
We try to live our values as leaders and help employees understand what we mean and what it means in practice to live our values. For me, it is our values that deliver the strategy, it requires everyone to be engaged and contribute. Everyone's place in our organization is important and we try to stimulate new thinking through established structures with daily quick meetings, improvement boards, etc. that are derived from the lean philosophy. Our employees get to share their good ideas with others and I think this is the best way to stimulate change, better than when only the managers try to drive change. We are also working to stimulate a solution-oriented collaborative climate where we reward the right behaviors to get the effect we want. "Heroic efforts" are not rewarded, but cooperation is rewarded.

The pace of change is high in both society and business. What is your main success factor as a leader in dealing with the rapid development?
I try to be awake and keep up with various trend forecasts to understand how markets, customers and employees are moving in terms of values, etc. I spend some of my time meeting others both inside and outside the industry. In addition to getting an ear to the ground, I am also inspired and energized by these meetings with knowledgeable, informed people. By discussing changes in the world around us in my management team, we help to keep each other up to date and developments come naturally. We are able to agree on a strategy as we go along in our discussions. Today, it is also possible to share articles, thoughts and new findings with each other at lightning speed, which is fantastic.
