Inspirer of the week - Jonas Hjerpe
This week's inspirer is Jonas Hjerpe, PhD in Philosophy of Science who currently works as a leadership developer.

Jonas, tell us a bit about your "vocation"?
My professional career is characterized by three great vocations. The first vocation was "philosophically speaking" about "what we can know". It started in high school and ended with my PhD in Philosophy of Science, exploring the nature, limitations, possibilities and conditions of scientific and technological knowledge. I then worked as a researcher, teacher and academic leader with a particular focus on scientific and technological development, as well as innovation and innovation management.
The second vocation made me focus on "business development and especially strategy, business and organizational development". I had various roles as owner, entrepreneur, consultant, strategy manager and board chairman. A lot of it was about the managerial challenges that large and small innovative companies face.
The third vocation 'concerns an inner search for truth' that has developed over a long period of time. It is the result of a long period of maturation, depression and a long series of experiences during my working life. I became aware of my inner compass that naturally wanted to guide my work and I decided to take the exploration as far as possible. I experienced how the inner guidance replaces the personal will. The process can be compared to shedding skin. The old falls away and something new, more viable emerges.
And now you work in leadership development?
Yes, I have devoted my whole life to development and to leading development work and especially the "inner development work". Since 2020, I have been working on developing leaders at a strategic level. The starting point for the work is the insight that our most important limitations in relation to others and the future reflect limitations that we carry in relation to ourselves. Leadership development with a focus on deepening self-awareness is about transforming limitations into opportunities. And to follow the inner wise compass that shows the way to a greater adventure, beyond the limitations of our will and imagination.
